When was the last time you read a good book? For most people who spend their time shuffling between their computers and televisions, books sometimes catch the short end of the stick. But they are still important nonetheless. If you’re free this weekend, check out the South Carolina Book Festival and get inspired.
The festival serves as the centerpiece for what has become South Carolina’s premiere annual literary weekend, including nearly 60 nationally-known authors for readings and signings and loads of bestsellers and exhibitors, along with special ticketed events. – South Carolina Conventions & Visitors Bureau
Times: Saturday 9 am – 5:30 pm; Sunday 11:30 am – 5 pm

Have you ever seen “The Odd Couple”? It’s a play by Neil Simon and it’s a very funny depiction of how to people, who are completely opposite, can become very good friends. It’s playing until Jan. 30 at the Town Theatre on Sumter Street. Tickets range from $11 to $16.
