The book references river preservation in South Carolina

I just started reading again after a long stretch of excuses that ranged from not having time to being too tired and I’m happy to be back to doing what I love.  If you love books, too, think about participating in One Book, One Columbia.  This citywide reading adventure, whose book of choice for 2012 is Saints at the River, bonds the city together as residents focus on reading the same book at the same time.  Participants come together to share ideas and issues throughout the duration of the event.

Brought to us by the City of Columbia, One Columbia for Arts and History and Richland County Public Library, One Book, One Columbia is a great opportunity to share a common interest with your fellow residents, and if you missed the January launch of the program, you have until February 29th to participate.

The featured book’s setting is in South Carolina and focuses on the themes of the protection of scenic rivers, the role of the media and the complexity of family relationships.  Should you decide to take on the challenge of finishing the book by the end of the month, also keep a look out for special events and programming related to the book.

Click the links above for more information on the project and for details on locations for special activities this month.  Get reading, Broad River Trace!
