Roast marshmallows at this festive holiday celebration!

For some reason the holidays just don’t feel like the holidays until you’ve experienced a spectacular light show. While it’s certainly fun to drive around the neighborhood and look at all the lights, you may be searching for a specific place to go that will have all the fun, family-friendly holiday razzle dazzle that you’re looking for. Search no further than the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden.

This year the holiday lights celebration will be taking place at the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden now until December 30 from 6 to 9 p.m with the exception of Nov. 24 and Dec 24 and 25. In addition to viewing more than a million twinkling lights, you can also experience animated images, nightly visit with the bearded guy in red, a Jingle Bell Bonfire, and festive holiday snacks like hot cocoa, marshmallows and more.

One of the best parts about this holiday celebration is that it is located about a mile from our Broad River Trace community, so it makes for a great after dinner activity!

The Riverbanks Zoo is a spectacular holiday light show! One we enjoy every year. Another cool event is called Harborside Lights and it takes place at Lake Carolina in Northeast Columbia. Have you been over to Lake Carolina for their Harborside Lights? It is another great holiday festival of lights happening around Columbia. What better way to get in the spirit of Christmas than thousands of twinkly lights, Santa, horse & carriage rides, shopping specials, s’mores and entertainment! Harborside Lights takes place this year on Saturday, December 10.
